A fresh BBC series, Legacy Of Spies, has been unveiled, with Newcastle star Charlie Hunnam confirmed to lead the cast. Penned by Stephen Cornwell and Clarissa Ingram, the series is an adaptation of John le Carré's best-selling novel, The Spy Who Came In From The Cold, and will incorporate elements from A Legacy of Spies.
The project has been in development for some time, with Charlie Hunnam set to star as British intelligence officer Alec Leamas.
Joining him will be actor Matthew Macfadyen slated to portray George Smiley, le Carré's most renowned and enduring character. As well as Daniel Brühl as East German spy Jens Fielder, and Devrim Lingnau Islamoğlu as Doris Quinz, also known as Agent Tulip.
