President Donald Trump and his administration have grand ambitions for Dulles International Airport in Virginia.

Trump and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy announced on Tuesday plans to "rebuild" the airport, which they say was designed poorly during a Cabinet meeting on Dec. 2, repeatedly calling the transportation hub "bad."

"We're going to rebuild Dulles Airport, because it's not a good airport... It should be a great airport... but it is not a good airport... it's a terrible airport," Trump said.

"It was incorrectly designed, but it has a beautiful building designed by Eero Saarinen... a beautiful terminal.. so you have a great building at a bad airport, but we're going to turn that around."

Details about the plan to revitalize Dulles Airport were not released, but the president said that they have "an amazing plan" for it.

"We're going to turn it around and make Dulles Airport, serving Washington, Virginia, Maryland, etcetera, into something really spectacular," he boasted. "We have a really amazing plan for it."

Duffy said that there will be a request for bids issued later on Tuesday afternoon as they look to improve their shuttle buses following a crash last month that left 18 injured.

"It's not a great airport, but we can make it great in this administration," he said to the president during the meeting. "It was a badly designed airport, and we're going to make it as good as there is in the country."
