A Georgia fugitive "considered to be armed and dangerous" used an Uber during his flight from pursuing sheriff's deputies, Georgia authorities said Tuesday.
Inmate Timothy Shane, 52, was taken from custody to Grady Hospital in Atlanta on Sunday night "for a medical examination after a suicide attempt" before escaping at about 1:20 a.m. on Monday, according to the Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office .

Shane fled the hospital on foot before he “stole a SUV parked in the area,” crashed it and then took off on foot again, the sheriff said.
The SUV’s owner reported that a Glock handgun was stolen from that vehicle, officials said.
