KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Three area lawyers are seeking to fill a soon-to-be vacant Knox County General Sessions Court judgeship.

Monday was the deadline to submit a name with Knox County Commission to take a spot now occupied by Judge Andy Jackson.

The three candidates are Knox County Commissioner Rhonda Lee and Kevin Teeters and Andrea Kline, who are assistant district attorneys general under DA Charme Allen.

Knox County Commission is expected to pick from the three at a special called meeting 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 8.

That person will take the bench promptly but will still have to stand for election in 2026 to fill the remaining term of Jackson, who was last elected in 2022.
