WASHINGTON — A stricter youth curfew was extended until next year by the DC Council, just days before the Committee on the Judiciary and Public Safety is set to hold a hearing on the issue.

The 10-3 vote comes after last month, when the council approved emergency legislation that extended the curfew for 90 days. At-Large Councilmember Robert White, Ward 4 Councilmember Janeese Lewis George, and Ward 1 Councilmember Brianne Nadeau voted against the extension.

With Tuesday's approval of the temporary legislation, the enhanced youth curfew is extended to April 15.
