EastEnders waved goodbye to two Walford residents tonight (Tuesday, 2 December) as Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) and Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) left the Square and headed to Australia.

In recent weeks viewers have seen the two birdwatchers finally admit their real feelings for each other after Zoe Slater did a little bit of matchmaking during one of The Vic's quiz nights.

Anna had already been planning on taking a big trip to Australia and soon Freddie was packing his bags to go with her, after feeling there was little left for him on the Square.

But before they could head off on their adventure, both were faced with some family drama as their leaving party took place at The Vic.
