RUSSELL, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - State transportation officials report I-90 West has been closed due to a crash.

The MassDOT reported the highway closure around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.

This as a snow storm is hitting western Mass. making driving conditions more difficult.

“Traffic is being detoured via I-90 WB (at) Exit 41,” the MassDOT reported.

At this time no word yet how many vehicles are involved or if any injuries occurred.

The Mass Pike speed was reduced to 40 mph and as of about 3 p.m., that reduction in speed remained in place.

According to the Western Mass News Traffic Map , traffic delays as a result of this crash were clocking in over an hour long. This was around 3 p.m. Tuesday as well.
