A graduate student instructor at the University of Oklahoma was placed on administrative leave after a student claimed she was religiously discriminated against for receiving a “zero” on an assignment.

Samantha Fulnecky, a junior at the university, was asked to write a 650-word essay for a psychology course. The rubric for the assignment asked students to read an article and provide a “thoughtful reaction” to the material. It also welcomed students to agree or disagree with the article.
