At 12:47 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service released a coastal flood statement valid for Wednesday between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. for Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk, Plymouth, Barnstable, Dukes and Nantucket counties.

The weather service describes, “Up to one half foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways (2.7 to 12.5 feet Mean Lower Low Water).”

“No significant impacts expected. Just pockets of very minor coastal flooding and/or splash over possible. Greatest risk will be south of Boston onto the Cape and Nantucket,” comments the weather service. “Do not drive through flooded roadways.”
