WASHINGTON COUNTY, ARKANSAS, Ark. — A Fayetteville murder suspect representing himself while facing the threat of the death penalty has filed a new motion asking the court to require he remain "chemical and drug free."

Kacey Kawika Jennings, who was arrested in 2022 in connection with the death of his ex-girlfriend Allison Castro, is facing charges of capital murder, abuse of a corpse, and evidence tampering. He has been held in the Washington County Detention Center without bond ever since.

Jennings has elected to represent himself, which a Washington County judge approved during a hearing in October 2025 while calling the decision "unwise."
