The US State Department has issued a new round of travel advisories, including a reissued Level 4 “Do Not Travel” warning and updated guidance for several other countries.
The Level 4 advisory for Haiti was reissued due to dangerous conditions. The US Embassy is urging citizens in Haiti to leave as soon as it is safe to do so. The advisory cites ongoing violence, kidnappings, and limited access to essential services.
Travel warnings have also been raised for Cambodia and Thailand, which are now at Level 2, meaning travelers should “exercise increased caution.” The State Department said the change is due to rising border tensions in the region.
A Level 2 advisory has also been reissued for Antarctica, warning of “environmental hazards” and “extreme and unpredictable weather.” Travelers are urged to prepare for rapidly changing conditions and limited emergency services.
A global travel warning remains in effect because of the Israel-Iran conflict and rising international tensions.
The State Department continues to issue country-specific advisories, including a Level 2 warning for Spain, highlighting the risk of terrorist attacks in public places, transportation hubs, and tourist destinations.
New guidance also discourages travel through the border between Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
In Mexico, some areas remain under Level 4 warnings, though the overall advisory for the country is Level 2. Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau are also at Level 2, with the State Department citing arbitrary enforcement of local laws.
Travelers should review the full advisories at Travel.State.gov before making any plans abroad.
