A physical education and health teacher at Metuchen High School was arrested and charged with theft, court documents obtained by Daily Voice show.

Michelle Huff is charged with theft by unlawful taking, after she took a check from the Metuchen Board of Education for $2,683.50 and deposited it in her personal account in February, according to MyCentralJersey. She then made mobile deposit of the same check later that year, MyCentralJersey reported.

A graduate of Montclair State University, Huff has worked at the district since Oct. 2020, according to her Linkedin. She previously spent eight years at the Plainfield School District.

Metuchen Superintendent Vince Caputo said Huff is currently on leave.

Huff was a popular presence on TikTok, with more than 32,000 followers. According to her online bio, she was on the PBS Teacher Advisory Board.
