While the current Miami Hurricanes are on a public relations campaign to explain why they belong in the College Football Playoff , future Hurricanes are preparing to turn their verbal commitments into written pledges.

The annual Early Signing Period begins on Wednesday and runs through Friday, and Miami has 29 recruits poised to sign.

Many members of UM’s class have been committed for months, and the Hurricanes filled out the class — which currently ranks 10th in 247Sports’ composite rankings — with a recent run of pledges.

Miami may add another commit Wednesday, as four-star linebacker Karsten Busch visited UM last weekend after backing off his Louisville pledge. The Hurricanes are also in the mix for Wisconsin running back commit Amari L
