Syracuse, N.Y. – Onondaga County Legislator Dan Romeo was quick to say that his vote had nothing to do with the qualifications of the individuals he was voting on , each of whom was nominated to serve on the volunteer board of a county agency.
Romeo was one of four Democratic legislators Tuesday who voted against confirming 12 individuals appointed by Republican county leaders to serve on county oversight boards. Two of the boards promote economic development and one oversees waste disposal and recycling.
All the appointments were approved 12-4, with every Republican present voting yes. Democrat Charles Garland also voted to approve the appointments.
