CALHOUN COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A North Carolina man is facing charges in connection with an officer-involved shooting in part of the Midlands.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division said Tuesday that 32-year-old Steven Dwayne Townsend Jr. is charged with first-degree assault, resisting arrest and assaulting a police officer as well as counts of failure to stop for blue lights, grand larceny and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The counts are linked to an incident that happened on Nov. 15, according to SLED.
