RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) - Two local nonprofits are seeking donations during the season of giving to continue their community services.

The Richmond Animal Care and Control is working to raise $2,500 for their Tommie Fund this Giving Tuesday. The fund has covered emergency veterinary services for 53 public animal shelters across the state.

“It’s life-changing. We have so many shelters that exist that are operating well below their means because they just do not have the budget for it and would have to make really difficult decisions if we didn’t have this funding to help them with their cases,” said Caitlin Stallings of RACC.
