At UFC 321, Tom Aspinall was accidentally eye-poked by Ciryl Gane, leading the fight to end in a no-contest. Since then, Aspinall has been very vocal about one of this year’s most talked-about incidents. He fired back at everyone, accusing him of backing out of the fight, and now, new footage shows the issue is far more serious than people thought.
Ever since the eye poke, fans and the MMA community have been split, one side defended the champion, while others claimed he should have continued fighting. But Aspinall is still under medical supervision, and in a recent video shared by the English fighter, the doctor said:
“It’s an extreme case [of double vision]. It’s a long road ahead. I would recommend that you wouldn’t fight until your double vision is resolved.”
