ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — A driver allegedly slammed into the back of a Gwinnett County police officer’s vehicle on I-85 and tried to run away last month, the police department said.

Shortly before 3:45 a.m. on Nov. 10, a driver reportedly crashed into the back of an officer’s patrol car while he was working a traffic construction detail.

Police said the officer was parked with his blue lights on while blocking the exit ramp to Indian Trail Lilburn Road on I-85 northbound.

The officer was not seriously injured, according to police.

In a social media post on Tuesday, Gwinnett County police released bodycam video from an officer who responded to the accident.

The video shows the driver, identified as Tyrone Letnom, walking near his wrecked car.
