Ever since 9/11, the government has been collecting more data on all citizens, and I think the USA Patriot Act of 2001 had something to do with opening this door. Former National Security Agency intelligence contractor and whistleblower Edward Snowden was just a small piece.
I wonder about the intentions behind all of us being cataloged, whether it is for good or bad, as I’m not sure.
Is there a plan to open data-collection centers in every major city? I think this subject warrants the News Tribune researching for the community. If there are new data centers, I’d have the government use a gray water system to cool the machines. It would be a benefit for the community and, in Duluth, would also help protect Lake Superior. This could be done with Duluth’s current water-treatment system.
