MADISON (WKOW) -- The "Trouble in Toyland" report , highlighting the safety concerns surrounding popular toys this holiday season, was released on Tuesday.
It is the 40th year of the annual report being released.
The report cautions against toys with choking hazards, harmful material like lead and phthalates, and artificial intelligence.
Annually, the United States reports at least 150,000 toy-related deaths and emergency room visits among children 14 and younger.
"Trouble in Toyland" also warns toy-buyers against possible counterfeits and recalls.
Between January and June 2025, 498 shipments of toys violating US standards were found, including 11,000 counterfeit Labubu dolls.
