A group of determined protesters in a Norfolk seaside town have joined forces to fight plans for the demolition of a 70-year-old bus stop. Around 10 Sheringham residents staged a protest at the local landmark this week in a bid to halt plans to knock it down.
The small-scale demonstration followed the launch of a petition demanding a U-turn on Norfolk County Council's plans to remove the structure in favour of a larger "travel hub". More than 700 people joined the online call for the 1950s bus stop to be maintained, including its mural of a steam locomotive by local artist Colin Seal, rather than replaced by a steel and glass alternative.
