Founded in 1968 by parents seeking to improve the lives of their children, The Arc of Fort Bend is a local chapter of a nationwide intellectual and developmental disability advocacy organization.
At the organization's 47th anniversary event, dubbed "Best in the West," about 1,000 attendees welcomed over $397,000 in preliminary income, Chief Executive Officer Laura LaVigne said.
"This was one of the most successful events we've ever hosted," she said in an email. "Our community showed up in full force to support our fundraiser and The Arc’s mission, and we are truly grateful."
