BERGEN COUNTY — Four locations were unveiled for "fan-festival" ticketed events that will be held during the week of the FIFA World Cup games at MetLife Stadium next year.
The tournament — which kicks off June 10, 2026, and wraps with a final match at MetLife Stadium on July 19, 2026 — is the first to take place in three different countries. The selection for matchups will be drawn on Friday, Dec. 5, which will also shape the fan events. The towns hosting the events are called "flag cities" and will include the flags of the corresponding matches.
The events will be sponsored by the Meadowlands Chamber of Commerce and Goya Foods, which is headquartered in Jersey City.
