The New Orleans Saints waived receiver Kevin Austin and offensive lineman Barry Wesley from the active roster, and also signed cornerback Beanie Bishop to the practice squad.

To make room for Bishop on the practice squad, New Orleans terminated the contract of running back Ian Wheeler.

Bishop was a solid contributor to the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted rookie last season, making the Pro Football Writers of America All-Rookie team after intercepting four passes.

Though he played in all 17 games with six starts for the Steelers last season, he did not make the team out of training camp in 2025, and Pittsburgh released him from the practice squad last month. He went through a workout with the Houston Texans, but did not sign.
