LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Kentucky Humane Society is looking to empty its shelters this month.

From now through Dec. 15, they’re waiving adoption fees for adult dogs and cats.

The Humane Society says this year was hard on shelters across the country, as families faced financial hardships and housing changes.

All pets available for adoption are already spayed, neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped.

If you live in Jefferson County, you are still responsible for a $10 pet licensing fee.

You can learn more about the animals up for adoption right now on the Kentucky Humane Society ’s website.
