It’s been 43 years since the Gulfport Admirals football team last played for a state title — a 14-21 loss at the hands of West Point .

On Saturday, Gulfport finds itself in its first state title game since then, and a new generation of Admirals travels to Starkville to accomplish what their predecessors could not.
