Bobby Takacs

Support is on the rise for the family of a Clifton native following his sudden death.

Robert "Bobby" Takacs, a New Jersey native who later settled in Dingmans Ferry, PA, died on Tuesday, Nov. 18, according to his obituary on the Shook Funeral Home website. He was 45 years old.

Takacs worked as an auto mechanic for many years and loved animals, fishing, and hunting, his obituary said. He was the devoted father of Kyle, Alexia and Evalynne Takacs, and the cherished grandfather of William Smith, according to his obituary. He was the son of Robert and Anneliese Takacs, and the brother of Katharina Takacs, Michael Cole and Raymond Cole. He was also the dear uncle of many nieces and nephews.

A GoFundMe launched by his niece, Ashley Cole, said his death was unexpected. “Donating would be helping the family financially with a funeral or any financial burdens that may come. No one is ever prepared for a death in the family especially when it’s unexpected. Bobby was a great man. And he was loved by many.”

His sister Katharina said the loss has devastated the family. “The tragic accident of losing Bobby has left the family devastated,” she wrote. “He was the youngest of four, father of three and the happiest grandfather to one. His happy uplifting spirit will always leave a hole in our heart. He attracted many people with his infectious laughter and humor. His smile will be missed by all who loved him.”

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, Dec. 7, from 12 to 3 p.m. at Shook Funeral Home, 639 Van Houten Ave. in Clifton. Cremation was private.
