SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - With today being Giving Tuesday, one organization is hoping you’ll help them raise awareness and funds.

The American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s goal is to save lives and bring hope to those who have lost loved ones to suicide.

The nonprofit is very active in Sioux Falls and all of South Dakota in spreading prevention education, advocacy, and support for survivors.

They say the money raised today will help continue their mission.

“Anything helps. All the money raised today on Giving Tuesday or South Dakota Gives Day helps us to amplify our mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide, and helps us bring more programs across the state of South Dakota,” said AFSP South Dakota Executive Director Samantha Christopherson.
