The Detroit Lions entered the 2025 NFL season hoping to once again be among the NFC teams vying for a Super Bowl title. Instead, they enter Week 14 desperately clawing to stay alive in the playoff race.

The Lions (7-5) currently have the eighth-best record in the NFC, leaving them on the outside looking in to the conference's playoff picture. They are fresh off another Thanksgiving Day loss to the Green Bay Packers, and are looking to make up ground on both the Packers (8-3-1) and the Chicago Bears (9-3) in the NFC North standings.

Dan Campbell and Co. won't necessarily have an easy path to that in Week 14. The Lions are set to play a Dallas Cowboys squad that has been red-hot in recent weeks.

Dallas is on a three-game winning streak that has included back-to-back wins over the Super Bowl 59 participants, the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs. Dak Prescott has played at a high level since the team's bye week while their once-beleaguered defense has improved greatly thanks to the additions of Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson as well as the returns of DeMarvion Overshown and Shavon Revel.

The Cowboys now sport a 6-5-1 record and are within striking distance of the NFC East-leading Eagles. They are a bit further back in the wild-card race, but a win over Detroit would allow Dallas to continue climbing up the conference standings and get to No. 8 overall in the NFC.

What time does Lions-Cowboys NFL game start?

The Lions vs. Cowboys game will kick off at 8:15 p.m. ET on Dec. 4. Detroit will host the game at Ford Field, looking to climb back into the NFC wild-card picture and remain ahead of Dallas in the conference standings.

What channel is Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys on tonight?

The Lions vs. Cowboys game will air on Amazon Prime as part of its "Thursday Night Football" package. The streaming giant has owned the rights to the NFL's "TNF" package since the start of the 2023 season, and is fresh off broadcasting the league's third annual Black Friday game.

Per usual, Al Michaels (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (game analyst) and Kaylee Hartung (sideline reporter) will be featured as Amazon's top broadcast team.

While NFL fans watching Thursday's game nationally will need an Amazon Prime subscription to access it, the league has a deal in place with Amazon requiring it to regionally broadcast the game in the local markets of the teams playing. As such, those in the Dallas and Detroit markets can watch the game without a Prime Video subscription.
