CBS News’ flagship evening broadcast, CBS Evening News, will look remarkably different in 2026 after the remaining co-host, Maurice DuBois , announced he will be departing the program on December 18.
DuBois, who was paired with John Dickerson on CBS Evening News, had been in his current role for less than one year. He broke the news of his departure to staffers on Thursday morning, saying, “December 18th is the day of my last broadcast at CBS News.”
Noting that it was an honor of a lifetime to be delivering the news at CBS News for 21 years, including at WCBS-TV, the New York City affiliate, DuBois added, “What a privilege! To be welcomed into your homes night after night, delivering the news / meeting extraordinary people, and telling their stories.”
