GOWANUS — A NEW PERFORMING-ARTS festival at Powerhouse Arts on Tuesday hosted sets by Moor Mother and Pussy Riot, drawing a packed crowd to the Gowanus space, according to Brooklyn Vegan .

Artist Laurie Anderson kicked off the evening in conversation with Pussy Riot’s Nadya Tolokonnikova, before Moor Mother debuted her “Translations Quintet.” Tolokonnikova then performed a solo set ahead of the band’s full performance.

Powerhouse International continues through the month, with upcoming shows including Red Hot’s 2024 “TRAИƧA” compilation, featuring Yaya Bey, Julie Byrne, L’Rain, Kathi Wilcox, and others.
