PORTLAND, Ore. — A cyclist is dead after being hit by a car on Oct. 29.
At 6:21 p.m., Portland Fire & Rescue and Portland police responded to the crash between a bicyclist and a car in the 11200 block of Northeast Glisan Street.
Around 6:25 p.m., though medical personnel arrived and provided emergency care, the bicyclist was pronounced dead. He was identified as 55-year-old Felipe Barajas-Nolazco.
The driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
Police later said that Barajas-Nolazco was traveling west in the bike lane when he hit a passing car, also traveling west. Investigators determined that the driver's actions did not contribute to the collision, and the driver will not face citations.
