CANTON – Metallus has announced a new tentative agreement with the United Steelworkers Local 1123 after the union rejected the prior agreement.
"We are pleased to have reached a new tentative agreement that reflects our shared commitment to competitive wages, solid benefits, and a safe working environment," Metallus CEO Mike Williams said in a prepared statement on Dec. 4.
"We believe this is a fair and equitable agreement and appreciate the good-faith efforts by all involved to continue this process and work toward an agreement that supports our employees, ensures job continuity, and reinforces Metallus' long-term success and growth objectives."
Details of the four-year agreement were not disclosed. The union is expected to announce the date of the vote.
