Utah author Brandon Sanderson kicked off his annual Dragonsteel Nexus convention by announcing events for fans across the pond.

This year’s convention began on Thursday at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City.

During the welcome ceremony, he and his wife, Emily, announced upcoming events that he and his company will be putting on in London next year.

The Dragonsteel company and Sanderson will be participating in the London MCM comic convention in May 2026.

“Part of this is because I’ve been invited to speak at Pembroke, which is the college that J.R.R. Tolkien attended at Oxford,” Sanderson said. “And we are really excited.”

The lecture Sanderson will be giving at Pembroke will be on the subject of fantasy literature.
