STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. -- Jacob Shaker scored two third-period goals and Frankie Martino made 17 saves for his first high school shutout as the Monsignor Farrell JV ice hockey team blanked St. Joseph by-the-Sea, 4-0, Wednesday night at the Staten Island Skating Pavilion.
The Lions (2-1) got off to a hot start with an early goal from Mike Uberti, while Michael Bizgu scored late in the second, giving the Lions a 2-0 advantage.
Farrell plays Kellenberg Friday night in Coney Island’s Abe Stark Arena.
