A 35-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in San Diego's Morena neighborhood Thursday.
Around 4 a.m. Thursday, the fatal collision occurred when a 30-year- old woman behind the wheel of a 2024 northbound Honda Civic attempted to avoid hitting the pedestrian at 4850 Pacific Highway, near Friars Road, but failed and collided with the man and a parked Toyota Prius, according to the San Diego Police Department.
Police said the driver saw the pedestrian in the roadway and tried to avoid the crash by swerving to the right. No injuries involving the Prius were reported.
The victim was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. His name was not immediately available.
