Building a golf course has become quite the technical undertaking.
Take, for example, the Crazy Mountain Ranch Golf Course, an 18-hole championship course being built under the guidance of Coore & Crenshaw Design, according to documents filed with the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation.
A Kentucky bluegrass blend will cover the tees, fairways and roughs, custom grown in Idaho and transported to the site. One blend, named NuGlade, is touted for its ability to survive drought and frost.
The golf course’s putting greens were seeded onsite using a creeping bentgrass mix.
“These golf course turf grasses will be maintained at a high quality level to provide championship playing conditions for our members,” the designers’ summary noted. “Mowing heights will be consistent
