Xavier Wendt went for it and found the twine.
The Tri-City Americans goalie scored a goal on Wednesday to cap off a Western Hockey League win against the Swift Current Broncos.
Wendt gained possession of the puck behind the left side of his own net, took aim, and fired a rocket that dropped out of the air just past center ice a few feet over the red line and slid all the way into the vacant net.
After Wendt's feat the celebration was on at Toyota Center. The broadcast showed a fantastic angle of it from above the goal.
Oh, yes, of course he also got the shutout.
According to the WHL, Wendt is the 11th goalie in league history to score a goal. He's the first to do so since March 10, 2020.
