A grandad sent drugs to his son in prison by posting him a pair of slippers packed full of cannabis. William Treacy and a behind bars Aaron Donohoe plotted to spray the parcel with Lynx deodorant in order to disguise the smell of its illegal contents.

But their scheme was ultimately rumbled by a sniffer dog, with the dad being directly linked to the package as he had left his own contact details as the return address. He was said to have "foolishly engaged in this escapade" after the inmate allegedly built up a drug debt while serving his sentence and was subjected to threats as a result.
