PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A Phoenix man has been formally charged after investigators said he kidnapped his girlfriend and went on a carjacking shooting spree in the Valley on Monday.
According to court documents, 36-year-old Johnny Armando Valdez fired his gun at a home before he kidnapped his girlfriend and the Gila River Indian Police Department was called around 2:30 p.m.
About an hour later, police said Valdez shot a Ford F-150 pickup truck driver’s window outside a Bank of America at 51st Avenue and Baseline Road in Laveen and demanded the truck. The driver got out and Valdez drove off in the truck with his kidnapped girlfriend in the passenger’s seat, court documents said.
