One day after U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents chased a 23-year-old mother near her West Bank home — an encounter captured on video that went viral across the country — the young woman, still shaken, recounted how the confrontation began.

On Wednesday afternoon, Jocelynn said she was walking home from a Marrero corner store when an SUV stopped beside her. At first, she thought it was an Uber.

Within seconds, a man wearing a mask and sunglasses stepped out and approached. Jocelynn, who asked that her last name not be used out of fear of retaliation, quickly realized he was a federal immigration agent.
