Pub campaigners have opposed the permanent closure of a Derbyshire village’s 160-year-old former watering hole and plans to convert it into flats.
Proposals from private developer A Harrison seek to turn the Railway Inn, in Station Road, Hatton, into three one-bedroom flats, opposite the Nestle factory.
Documents from the applicant detail that the pub has been closed since August 2024. It has been marketed for sale since October last year, but with no success .
This, the documents explain, followed an inability to find a new landlord for the pub, built in 1865.
