GRAND FORKS — Against a strong East Region contender, two points of Grand Forks Central’s game were emphasized on Thursday night. Both sides of its special teams are still looking to find their stride, while Rylan Spicer, Nolan Marto and Gavin Wockenfuss seem to have found theirs.
After giving up a two-goal lead in the third period, Wockenfuss scored the overtime winner to defeat Fargo Davies 4-3 at Purpur Arena.
“Hopefully, it’s a character builder for us to be in a tight game like that. It’s something that we are going to have to try to address. The good thing about it is we were able to come back from that and get the win,” Central head coach Grant Paranica said.
Holding a 3-1 lead in the third period, a five-minute major for contact to the head was assessed to Trey Clauson with 8:21
