It took a little over two months, but the Edmonton Oilers are finally giving everyone a reason to believe.
After a go-nowhere march consisting of one step forward, two steps back, the Edmonton Oilers broke into a full-on sprint Thursday night, running roughshod over the bedraggled Seattle Kraken.
Picking up right where they left off in a 4-0 win over the Kraken last Saturday, the Oilers rode their offence to a 9-4 rout at Rogers Place on a night when everything was coming up Oilers.
They got the fast start they always talk about, with Connor McDavid scoring at 7:17. Vasily Podkolzin scoring 17 seconds later and Leon Draisaitl scoring seven seconds into a power play to make it 3-0 at 11:27.
The Kraken didn’t know what hit them.
It was everything the Oilers wanted to see from them
