Luke Swerdlik scored 28 points and the hot-shooting Mountain View boys basketball team held on to beat Black Hills 72-69 on Thursday at home.

A senior guard, Swerdlik made six of the Thunder’s 12 3-pointers including two in the fourth quarter.

Mountain View (2-0) went 10 for 11 at the free throw line, including 7 for 8 in the fourth quarter. Carter Soucy was 6 for 6 in that period and finished with 13 points.

Trailing 39-27 at halftime, Black Hills (1-1) got back into the game by outscoring Mountain View 21-12 in the third quarter.
