PHILIPPI, W.Va. — The Barbour County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a fatal crash that occurred near Philippi earlier this week.
The Philippi Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to the scene on Elk Creek Road around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday and found the vehicle with two occupants. One person in the vehicle was dead and another person had been ejected.
No names have been released.
One patient was transported via ambulance with serious injuries.
The Barbour County Sheriff’s Department is conducting the investigation. West Virginia State Police, volunteer firefighters from Philippi and Belington assisted at the scene.
