One man was killed and two firefighters injured in a fire Wednesday, Dec. 3.

An emergency call came in shortly after 8 a.m. regarding a fire in the 800 block of Lynn Drive near Dallas.

Two firefighters were injured while pulling a man out of a burning mobile home. Despite lifesaving efforts from GEMS paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two firefighters were treated at the scene for burns and other minor injuries.

Firefighters had the fire under control within five minutes of arrival.

Multiple Gaston County fire departments responded to the call.

The man's name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
