Slidell senior tight end Jeremiah Birdlow’s journey to signing with the University of Louisiana-Lafayette was a long one.
Surrounded by family and classmates on Dec. 3, Birdlow kept a promise he made to his mother when he was in the seventh grade.
“I told her that she would never have to pay for me to go to college. I always had a drive to be great. In my heart, I believe that I’ll be one of the best players in the world. Today is pretty special,” Birdlow said.
The 6-foot-4, 235-pound 3-star athlete said he knew he wanted to go to Lafayette when he attended a game at Cajun Field in the eighth grade.
