Tributes have poured in following the sad death of the founder of a well-loved Indian restaurant in Giffnock, who passed away aged 76. Kulbir Purewal opened the Turban Tandoori back in 1982, helping to shape the restaurant into what it is today.
The eatery was closed in his honour on Thursday, December 4, as staff and management attended his memorial service. Kulbir has been described as the "heart and soul" of the restaurant, which he had an "unwavering commitment" towards.
Announcing the sad news to social media, Turban Tandoori said in a statement: "It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our father, Kulbir Purewal. In his honour, Turban Tandoori will be closed today, Thursday 4th December, as our staff and management attend his memorial service.
