A December that will be busier than November might be one month to remember for Penn State’s wrestling team.
The top-ranked Nittany Lions (1-0) swing back into action Friday night in front of a sold-out Drexel crowd (7:30 p.m./FloWrestling/Penn State Sports Network) and then make their season debut in Rec Hall at 1 p.m. Sunday against longtime rival Lehigh (B1G+/Penn State Sports Network).
With wins in matches against Drexel, Lehigh, Wyoming, North Dakota State and Stanford, and the Lions will be heavily favored in each, Penn State will be the sole owner of the nation’s longest Division I winning streak with 77, eclipsing the decades-old record held by Oklahoma State.
If things go as expected, the streak will be at 74 after the weekend.
